Abstract

Lateral epicondylitis is a condition also known as ‘tennis elbow’. It is a commonest condition

that presents with pain and tenderness on the lateral side of the elbow due to the excessive use and

repetitive stress that result inflammation in the common extensor tendon of the lateral epicondyle

of the humerus bone. Tennis elbow is a painful condition that causes movement restriction of

forearm this condition requires treatment for long period. In modern system of medicine only

symptomatic treatments are available like use of anti-inflammatory medicines, analgesic

drugs, steroids and some physiotherapy exercise etc. But none of these provide satisfactory

result and long term use of such medicines is also cause adverse effects. Concurring to

Ayurveda the condition of tennis elbow can be connected with Snayugata Vikaras In

this sort of conditions in ayurveda have a few panchakarma treatment counting agnikarma

and medication too to urge noteworthy comes about Acording to Acharya Sushruta

for disarranges of snayu tendons and ligaments asthi bone siddhi joints etc Agnikarma

has given noteworthy comes about.
