Abstract

Nanostructured materials have emerged as a pivotal component in the development of targeted

drug delivery systems, enhancing the precision and effectiveness of treatments while minimizing

side effects. These materials, owing to their unique properties such as high surface area, tunable

size, and ability to be functionalized, are being increasingly utilized in various biomedical

applications. This paper explores recent advancements in nanostructured materials used in drug

delivery systems, with a focus on innovations in targeted therapy. By investigating different

nanomaterials, including liposomes, dendrimers, and polymeric nanoparticles, the paper

highlights the strategies utilized to achieve targeted drug release, overcome biological barriers,

and improve patient outcomes in the treatment of diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and

cardiovascular disorders.
