Ayurveda, the ancient system of holistic medicine, has long emphasized the
interconnectedness of the human body, mind, and spirit, with an inherent understanding of
the human anatomy through Sharir Rachana (anatomy). Sharir Rachana explores the body’s
structure, including bones, muscles, tissues, organs, and systems, while addressing the
balance of the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Complementing this anatomical
knowledge is the role of medicinal plants, known as Aushadhi, which are used to restore,
enhance, and maintain body structure and function. This research paper aims to explore the
synergy between Sharir Rachana and medicinal plants within the framework of Ayurveda. By
aligning Ayurvedic anatomy with the therapeutic use of medicinal plants, the body’s
structural integrity and physiological functions are enhanced. The article discusses how
specific plants, such as Cissus quadrangularis (Asthi Shrinkhala), Ashwagandha, Turmeric,
and Brahmi, support the health of bones, muscles, tissues, and circulatory systems while
helping to balance the doshas. Additionally, the paper highlights how Ayurvedic medicine
integrates these plants to optimize tissue regeneration, strengthen the musculoskeletal system,
and support circulatory health. The synergy between Sharir Rachana and medicinal plants
provides a holistic approach to healing, focusing not only on symptom management but also
on maintaining the body’s natural structural balance and vitality.
